history
Father Klemens Maria Hofbauer managed to get the Redemptorists (Congregatio Sanctissimi Redemptoris CSsR) admitted as a religious community in Austria in 1820. Maria am Gestade became her first monastery, from here monasteries were founded in many countries in Europe and North America.
