Midwolde Monastery or Midwolda ( Grijzevrouwenklooster ) was a Cistercian monastery on Dollart in what is now the Dutch province of Groningen , which existed from 1259 to 1299. It was probably in the large community of Oldambt, which was newly formed in 2010, north of Scheemda .
history
The Cistercian convent, which probably emerged from the double monastery of Menterna (Menterwolde; see Termunten monastery ), was destroyed by the flood in 1299 when the nuns moved out of the existing double monastery .
