Patollen Monastery

The monastery of the Holy Trinity (Latin Coenobium Sancti Trinitatis ) was a monastery of the order of the Augustinian hermits in Patollen near Domnau and Groß Waldeck (today Ossokino ) in the former Teutonic order state .

history

In 1402 a Peter Nagel was allocated money for the construction of his monastery for the first time by the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. The Patollen Monastery was first mentioned in 1404 . In the following period it received several villages in the area as well as foundations, among other things for the construction of a chapel and for daily soul masses for four knights.

In 1524 some monks had already escaped , in 1526 the monastery was given to the councilor and court master Heinrich von Kittlitz by Duke Albrecht .

Constitution and possessions

The monastery was run by a prior .

It owned the villages of Groß Waldeck, Klein Waldeck, Kemnitte, Mostitten, Almenhausen and Abschwangen, and the church patronage in the latter two.
