St. Elisabeth Monastery (Schaan)

The St. Elisabeth Monastery in Schaan (Liechtenstein) is a women's monastery founded in 1935 for the Adorers of the Blood of Christ (Adoratrices Sanguinis Christi, ASC).

history

Since 1920 a community of ASC sisters lived in the Gutenberg house (Balzers) . In 1935 the community moved to the monastery in Schaan, which was built according to plans by the Austrian architect Arthur Wander . Until 1994/95 the sisters ran a school, the "Institut St. Elisabeth". Since 2003 the monastery community has been offering pastoral offers in cooperation with the association for an open church in the project “Bread and Roses”.
