The Association for an Open Church is an association that offers an alternative church life in Liechtenstein to that of the Archdiocese of Vaduz . The association was founded on February 2, 1998 as a reaction to the establishment of the Archdiocese of Vaduz and the appointment of Wolfgang Haas as Archbishop of Vaduz. The initial character of a protest group against the new archbishopric gave way over the years to the endeavor, as part of the Roman Catholic Church in Liechtenstein, to offer a diverse range of church services for all interested parties. The association has been publishing the magazine "Fenster" since 1998. It is networked with the St. Elisabeth Schaan Monasteryand feels closely connected with Bishop Erwin Kräutler , who is often involved in the association's offers.
