Türkheim Monastery

The monastery Türkheim is a former monastery of the Capuchins in Türkheim in Bavaria in the diocese of Augsburg .

history

The monastery was founded in 1685 by Duke Maximilian Philipp of Bavaria, brother of Elector Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria. It was not abolished in the course of secularization and initially served as a central monastery . On November 1, 1827, King Ludwig I of Bavaria declared the monastery to continue to exist. Due to a lack of children, the last Capuchins left Türkheim in 1972. The monastery building uses a nursing service.
