The sea rescue boat (SRB) Martje was a boat of the so-called 7-meter class of the German Society for the Rescue of Shipwrecked People (DGzRS). The boat was manufactured in 1972 by the Evers shipyard in Niendorf under construction number 508.

The internal name was KRST 15.

Naming

The name Martje is a Frisian woman's name.

Technical Equipment

The lifeboat was equipped with radio systems, echo sounder , GPS , external bilge pump and a rescue port.

Like all "real" boats of the 7 m class, the boat had no radar device (further explanation: Kaatje sea rescue boat ).

Stationings

The Martje was first stationed at Schilksee , where the boat was in service from March 16, 1972 to May 1973. From May 15, 1973 to 1976, the Martje was in Damp , after which it was relocated back to Schilksee, where the boat remained until the decommissioning date of December 2, 1987. It was sold to the Royal Bavarian Yacht Club on Lake Starnberg , which sold the boat in April 1999 in private hands. As far as known, the boat is currently (as of 2005) on the Danube .
