Knockin Castle
Knockin Castle is a ruined castle in the village of Knockin between Oswestry and Shrewsbury in the English county of Shropshire .
The moth was Guy le Strange 1154-1160 build. It remained in the hands of the Le Strange family for most of the Middle Ages . The castle was damaged during the first war of the barons in the reign of Johann Ohneland , but then John le Strange had it repaired.
In 1540 Knockin Castle is described as "in ruins". Today only a tree-lined mound remains from the castle .
