Button measure
The button measure is a simple caliper , usually without a vernier . It is mostly made of brass . The measuring range is usually 80 or 100 mm, the scale is accurate to the millimeter.
Origin of name
The button measure bears his name because the movable measuring arm is adjusted by means of a sliding button attached to it.
