The node distance is generally the distance between two nodes .

  • Nautical: The basic dimension of a log line , the knot cord for measuring speed.
  • Physics: Half the wavelength of a standing longitudinal wave : d = λ / 2
  • Mechanics: Euler's angle ϕ
  • Astronomy: The distance of a celestial body from its ascending node, the coordinate in the orbit system .
  • For GPS and Galileo satellites: A measure of the distribution of the various orbital planes along the equator.
