Knot cross

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The knotted cross can appear in heraldry as a heraldic image or as a common figure .

It is formed by a diamond window on which a post rests, over which a beam is placed so that both ends of the beam are led to the sides under the diamond. The representation is available in a vertical form and rotated by 45 degrees. The latter shape is also known as a knot cross , as a figure rotated in this way is called a slope . Another possibility is a ring in the place of the openwork diamond. The coat of arms is rare.
