The Kogelbaum is located in the Lower Austrian cadastral municipality of Senning (municipality of Kirchstetten) .

In the true sense of the word, there are two trees: an approximately 250–300 year old European beech and an approximately 100 year old Turkey oak - the remains of a piece of the Haspelwald forest that was cleared around 1900 . It is located on the ridge of about 330  m above sea level. A. located ridge , known as Kogel , which serves as the namesake.

In 1997 the Kogelbaum was named a Lower Austrian natural monument .

regional customs

Kogel tree has always served as a place for which takes place twice a year Sonnwendfeuer , but is often used for weddings. The area around the trees is fenced in and designed as a small park.
