The Mae-Ruay Snack Food Factory ( German Mae-Ruay Imbissfabrik ) is a Thai manufacturer of snack products . His best-known product, Koh-Kae (โก๋ แก่, Thai expression for “cheeky man”), roasted peanuts in various flavors, is exported to over fifty countries and is the largest export commodity of snack products in Thailand.

history

The company's origins date back to 1964, when Chookiat and Jiraphorn Ruayjaroensap began selling roasted peanuts in heat-sealed plastic bags of one baht each . Sales rose steadily over the next ten years. By 1976, peanuts had gained enough popularity that Chookiat and Jiraphorn could devise a business plan to professionally mass-produce them in the future. From 1979 the company began to develop new flavors to add variety to the product range. In 1998 the honey flavor for Koh-Kae and in 1999 a rice cake under the brand name Beary were introduced.

Having strengthened its position in the Thai market, Mae-Ruay began to concentrate on the international market. To support its own growth, Mae-Ruay distributed agents in seventeen, distributors in fourteen more, and dealers in nearly fifty countries.
