Coal mixing plant
In a coal mixing plant , different types of coal are mixed for further use in order to obtain a uniform coal quality optimized for the respective purpose.
The different types of coal contain, depending on the deposit , different admixtures of different substances, in particular:
Mixing takes place through an even distribution of the delivered coal in layers of different thicknesses on top of each other, similar to the horizontal layering of a cake. As in the case of a cake, the removal of vertical slices from each slice contains all the components, so the coal is also removed in a mixed manner by removing the embankment at an angle.
In this way, for example, in a coking plant for metallurgical coke, uniform stability of the coke lumps can be achieved so that the bed does not collapse during ore reduction in the blast furnace . In the case of combustion in a power plant with flue gas desulphurization , for example, the sulfur content of the steam coal must be set so that the system can be operated in the optimal range.
