Kokkola (administrative community)
The administrative community Kokkola ( Finnish Kokkolan seutukunta , Swedish Karleby ekonomiska region ) is one of two administrative communities ( seutukunta ) of the Finnish landscape of Central Ostrobothnia . The following two cities and municipalities belong to it :
With the incorporation of the municipality of Kaarlela in 1977 and the municipalities of Kälviä , Lohtaja and Ullava into the city of Kokkola in 2009 , only two cities now exist in this administrative community. The area is roughly the size of London . 52,282 people live in the Kokkola administrative community, which is 2,045 km² in size (as of 2011).
