The Kolima is a lake in the countryside of Central Finland .
The lake has an area of 101.08 km² and is at an altitude of 111.2 m. It is divided into two large basins - the northwest part is the main lake, the southeast part is called Matoselkä . The narrow point between the two partial lakes is the Puralansalmi . The lakes Alvajärvi , Muurasjärvi , Elämäjärvi and Saanijärvi to the north lie in the Kolima catchment area . In the north the Heinäjoki , the outflow of the Alvajärvi, flows into the Kolima. The small town of Pihtipudas is also located there . In the south, the Kolima is drained to Lake Keitele in the south.
