Collegiate Foundation St. Paul (Freising)
St. Paul Freising was a former collegiate foundation in Freising in Bavaria in the Diocese of Freising .
history
The monastery was founded in 1251 by Konrad von Tölz , Bishop of Freising. The monastery did not have its own church, four, later three canons under the direction of a senior were assigned to a monastery altar, the Paulus altar in the south aisle of the Freising Cathedral . The canons did not have their own choir clothes or statutes. The monastery administration was with the cathedral monastery. Their job was to take part in choir prayer every day and to read a daily mass for the bishop. The collegiate foundation was dissolved in 1802 in the course of secularization .
