Koller pouch

The anatomical space between the spleen and the left kidney is known as the Koller pouch . It is located in the left posterior axillary line at the level of the 10th and 11th ribs .

Similar to the Morison pouch , which is located on the right side between the right kidney and liver, the Koller pouch is a space in which, when the patient is supine, ultrasonographically small amounts of intra-abdominal fluid (e.g. blood or pus) are already present. can be proven. The display of the Koller pouch is part of the Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma (FAST) in emergency medicine.
