Kolo is a small town in the central Tanzanian region of Dodoma .

Kolo is located at 1,522 meters above sea level, around 25 kilometers north of Kondoa , the capital of the district of the same name within the Dodoma region and around 15 kilometers southwest of the Tarangire National Park .

economy

To develop the village economy, a women’s group was formed, which in 1998 was also able to win financial support from the Women and Youth Development Fund of the Kondoa district. The support took the form of a one-off payment for a project proposed by the women's group.

Infrastructure

Kolo is located on a little-traveled but relatively good slope that connects the two cities of Arusha and Dodoma .

Attractions

There are numerous Stone Age rock paintings in the Kondoa district , three of which are about six kilometers away near Kolo. In order to make the rock paintings accessible to tourists, a Conservation Committee has been formed in Kolo, which is dedicated to protecting the paintings and training tourist guides. The Kondoa rock paintings were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2006.
