Komatsu WA500
The WA500 model series from the Japanese construction machinery manufacturer Komatsu includes medium-weight wheel loaders with articulated steering . The type designation WA refers to "Wheeled Articulated" which means something like frosted and articulated, the number 500, on the other hand, stands for the contents of the shovel (500 - 5.00m3). The wheel loader is referred to within the organization as the "Dantotsu" product, which is intended to express a certain superiority over competitors, i. H. the product was developed with the aim of being better than competitive machines in the same class in every respect.
Model history
In 1986 this type of wheel loader appeared for the first time as Series 1, at that time still with a compressed air-assisted braking system .
The WA500-3 was then available from 1995. Innovations were u. a. more modern driver's cab with digital displays, fully hydraulic brake system, 2-pump hydraulics , load damping system.
From 2001 there was the WA500-3 Activ, which was equipped with a new common rail low-emission engine.
Production of the WA500-6 started in 2006. This was then replaced by the WA500-7 in 2013, which differed from its predecessor, among other things, due to its higher total weight of up to 35,700 kg.
From 2017 the WA500-8 was introduced, which is currently (as of 2020) delivered with engines according to EU Stage V.
