Obrony Robotników Comitet

The Komitet Obrony Robotników ( German  Committee for the Defense of Workers , in short: KOR ) was a group of the Polish civil rights movement . It emerged as a response by the intellectuals to repression by the government against those who participated in workers' protests in 1976. The main aim was to provide financial support and legal assistance to persecuted workers. She was one of the nucleus of the trade union movement " Solidarność ".

Among the founders of KOR were Jacek Kuroń , who later became the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Poland, a close associate of Lech Wałęsa , the later Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz and the author Jerzy Andrzejewski .
