In the joint municipality of Gieboldehausen in the district of Göttingen in Lower Saxony , ten municipalities have come together to handle their administrative business. The administrative seat of the municipality is in Gieboldehausen .

history

The integrated community of Gieboldehausen has consisted of the villages Gieboldehausen, Obernfeld, Rhumspringe, Rollshausen, Rüdershausen and Wollbrandshausen since January 1st, 1971. In the course of the territorial reform two years later, in 1973, the integrated municipality was expanded to include the villages of Bilshausen, Bodensee, Germershausen, Krebeck, Renshausen, Wollershausen and Lütgenhausen. Based on the -hausen ending of the localities, it can be shown that these villages were mostly built in the 8th and 9th centuries. In their original spelling, the localities contain a personal name, which usually refers to the person as the first settler in the respective place. Excavation traces also testify to a longer settlement of the area, which goes back to the Neolithic and Bronze Ages . The first documentary mentions, however, date from the 10th century (e.g. Bilshausen 952) and testify to a 300 to 400 year membership of the dukes of Braunschweig.
