Commanding Admiral Western Baltic Sea
Commanding Admiral Western Baltic Sea was the name of a military agency of the German Navy and its commander that existed from November 1944 to May 1945. The commanding admiral was subordinate to the Commander in Chief of the Naval High Command Baltic Sea . The staff was in Ahlbeck on Usedom .
The area of command extended from the German-Danish border to the west of the mouth of the Leba River in Pomerania . He was also assigned to the Danish island of Bornholm .
history
The forerunner of the Commanding Admiral Western Baltic Sea was the Coast Commander Western Baltic Sea , whose office was disbanded in November 1944. The tasks were transferred to the commanding admiral western Baltic Sea and to several subordinate naval command offices .
Subordinate associations and agencies
At the same time as the establishment of the agency, sea command offices were set up to limit the range of command, which functioned as an intermediate level between the commanding admiral and the subordinate units.
