Commander of the Danish Islands Naval Defense
The Commandant of the Danish Islands Naval Defense , or Sea Commander Danish Islands for short , was a regional coastal commander in the German Navy in World War II who was subordinate to Naval Commander Denmark , from February 1943 Commanding Admiral Denmark , and from April 1944 Commanding Admiral Skagerrak . The agency emerged in April 1944 from the previous section of South Jutland and the Danish Islands . The staff was in Copenhagen .
South Jutland and Danish Islands section
The section Jutland and Danish islands was the forerunner of Seekommandantur Danish islands and included the east coast of Jutland from the German-Danish border to Aarhus and the Danish islands, including Bornholm . After the occupation of Denmark in April 1940, this command area was initially directly under the command of the Danish Navy.
The section was set up in October 1942 as an intermediate level. The following associations and departments were subordinate to the commander in the section:
- Harbor Protection Flotilla Copenhagen, from October 1943 as 8th Security Flotilla subordinated to the Commander of the Security of the Baltic Sea and from April 1944 there subordinated to the 8th Security Division
- Helsingør harbor protection flotilla , disbanded in April 1944
- Nyborg Harbor Protection Flotilla , disbanded in April 1944
- Harbor Protection Flotilla Fredericia , from October 1943 as 4th Security Flotilla subordinated to the Commander of the Security of the Baltic Sea and from April 1944 subordinated to the 8th Security Division there

Maritime Command Danish Islands
In April 1944, the command area of commanding Admiral Skagerrak was restructured. From the section and Danish Jutland islands which was Seekommandantur Danish islands formed, the area of responsibility has been adjusted. The rest of the previous section was assigned to the new Maritime Command South Jutland . Bornholm was subordinated to the commanding admiral western Baltic Sea in November 1944 .
