The Communist People's Party of Turkey ( Turkish Halkın Türkiye Komünist Partisi , HTKP for short ) is a Marxist - Leninist party in Turkey . It is headed by Erkan Baş and Metin Çulhaoğlu , the party newspaper is called İleri .

Their party mottos are: “Forward for a Socialist Republic!” (Sosyalist Cumhuriyet için İleri!) And “If the money has a sultanate, the people have the TKP” (Paranın saltanatı varsa Halkın TKP'si var!).

The Communist People's Party of Turkey came into being after the mutual split of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) from 13 to 15 July 2014. The second split alongside the Communist People's Party is the Communist Party (KP).
