Compromise form
Compromise form , also called addition form, is a term from linguistics . It is a special kind of linguistic addition in which a third is formed from the ways in which two languages are spoken. In other words, the speakers in linguistic or dialectal border regions agree on a third form with regard to a differently used word or different expressions, which was not previously included in both languages or dialects, but can be used and understood by everyone.
If the proportion of compromise forms from always the same source languages is high in a language variety , one also speaks of a balance language between these languages.
