Komsomol'skaya Hill ( Russian Зопка Комсомолская Sopka Komsomolskaja , German ' Komsomolhügel ' ) is a 35 m high hill on the coast of the East Antarctic Queen Marie Land . It rises just south of Mabus Point .
Participants of the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson discovered and mapped it. The first aerial photographs were taken during the US operation Highjump (1946–1947). Scientists on a Soviet expedition re-mapped and named it in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia translated the Russian name into English in 1960.
