Kondō Tetsuo

Kondō Tetsuo ( Japanese 近藤 鉄 雄 ; * 1929 in Yamagata Prefecture , Japan ; † March 4, 2010 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese politician .

biography

Kondō, who was initially an employee of the Ministry of Finance , began his political career in 1972 when he was elected to the House of Representatives ( Shūgiin ) for the first time as a member of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in the 1st constituency of Yamagata . Later he was head of the economic planning authority in the 3rd Nakasone cabinet .

On November 5, 1991 he was appointed by Prime Minister Miyazawa Kiichi as Minister of Labor (Rōdō-daijin) in the Miyazawa cabinet , to which he was a member until the reshuffle on December 12, 1992.

Kondō, who belonged to the Miki / Kōmoto faction within the LDP , retired from politics after being re-elected nine times in the House of Representatives after his electoral defeat in 1996. His son Kondō Yōsuke is a representative of the Democratic Progressive Party (Minshintō) also a member of the House of Representatives.
