Conference of Hessian University Presidia

The Hessian University Presidia (KHU) is an amalgamation of the five Hessian universities, consisting of the Technical University of Darmstadt , the Goethe University of Frankfurt , the Justus Liebig University of Gießen , the University of Kassel and the Philipps University of Marburg . The tasks of the KHU include, among other things, the statement on university policy issues. The KHU is a member of the Senate of the University Rectors' Conference (HRK). Birgitta Wolff , President of the Goethe University Frankfurt , has been the spokesperson since October 1, 2018 . Before that, the spokesperson was Joybrato Mukherjee , President of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. The spokespersons of the member universities take on the role of spokesperson on a rotation basis every two years.

Members

The presidia of the Hessian universities meet at regular intervals. The office is located at the university whose president is speaking.

Act

The task of the KHU is to comment on various university policy issues. The Hessian university policy is particularly striking. Education and research policy challenges at national and European level are also discussed. The task of this conference is to secure and expand the competitiveness of the participating universities.
