Confiscation

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Confiscated animals are slaughterhouse waste that has to be removed from the carcass at slaughter and disposed of. These are also parts that are not suitable for human nutrition because they do not meet the cultural expectations of food or are perceived as nauseating, such as genital organs, eyes , ears , fetuses and umbilical sections . Whole carcasses or larger parts of them can also be classified as confiscated at the official meat inspection if they show changes that exclude use for human consumption. One also speaks of confiscation .

Confiscates must be disposed of via animal carcass disposal facilities and are processed into animal meal here . In Germany, the law on the disposal of animal carcasses, animal carcass parts and animal products ( Animal Body Disposal Act , TierKBG) regulates the disposal of slaughterhouse waste, but the term “confiscate” is no longer used in it.
