Konoe Nobuhiro
Konoe Nobuhiro ( Japanese 近衛 信 尋 ; outdated transcription: Konoye Nobuhiro ; * 1599 ; † 1649 ) was Kampaku (regent) for the Go-Mizunoo - Tennō from 1623 to 1629 .
Life path
Konoe Nobuhiro was the fourth son of Go-Yōzei -Tennō. The Tennō determined him as heir to the calligrapher Konoe Nobutada ( 近衛 信 尹 ), who adopted him.
His career at the imperial court began in 1620 with the direct elevation to "Chancellor of the Left" ( Sadaijin ). 1623 Appointment as Kampaku (regent) for Go-Mizunoo . A position from which he resigned in 1629. He is also known as a painter and lover of the tea ceremony . In 1645 he became a monk under the name Ōzan ( 応 山 ).
His son Konoe Hisatsugu ( 近衛 尚 嗣 ) died as regent at the age of 32. Of the children born afterwards , two entered the clergy, Kanshun (1648–1682; 寛 俊 ) and a daughter who entered Hokke-ji . Another younger daughter married Tokugawa Mitsukuni ( 徳 川 光 圀 ; 1628-1700).
