Konrad Steinhausen

Konrad Steinhausen (born October 19, 1906 in Cologne , †  June 20, 1964 in Brinkum ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Steinhausen joined the SPD in 1920. He was an instrument maker by profession and was a member of the union from 1924. Until 1933 he worked on a voluntary basis in the SPD and in the trade union. A year after the National Socialists came to power, he emigrated abroad. After the Second World War he returned in 1945 and initially worked as an agricultural worker. From 1949 Steinhausen worked as an employee and also as a secretary for the trade union in Bremen. From 1946 he was active at the local political level. Among other things, he was a member of the district council in Syke in 1948. From 1950 he was sub-district chairman of the SPD. In 1955 he was elected to the Lower Saxony state parliament, to which he belonged until his death. From 1957 he was mayor of the municipality of Brinkum.
