Konrad von Pegau (* before 1418; † 1423 ) was abbot of the St. Gallen monastery from 1418 to 1419 .

Life

Pope Martin V transferred the Abbey of St. Gallen to Konrad von Pegau in 1418 after the removal of Abbot Heinrich von Gundelfingen , who had fallen out of favor due to a lack of reforms. Konrad von Pegau had distinguished himself at the Council of Constance for his erudition and his zeal for reform. Pegau is in the diocese of Merseburg .

Soon after, Konrad von Pegau asked the Pope to be released from the task of administering the abbey. The conditions in St. Gallen were too discouraging, especially because a fire had just raged there. The Pope granted the request and informed the vassals of the monastery on March 15, 1419 at the same time as the appointment of the successor Heinrich von Mansdorf . Konrad's reign lasted ten months; he was mentioned as abbot only once - on January 23, 1419.
