The Conservatoire de Luxembourg (fr. Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg , lux. Conservatoire vun der Stad Lëtzebuerg ) is a training institute for musical subjects of all kinds in Luxembourg under the auspices of the city.
history
The Conservatory of Luxembourg City was legally established in 1906 and was located in a building in the old town. After the Second World War, additional buildings were rented to accommodate the growing number of schoolchildren, in which teaching was decentralized. In 1984 a completely new, stately building complex was erected as part of the Geesseknäppchen campus , which also has its own concert hall with a large concert organ from the Luxemburg organ manufacturer Westenfelder . He plays an important role in the concert life of the city alongside that of the Philharmonie Luxembourg . The conservatory also maintains a music library and a musical instrument museum.
