Konstantin Dobrynitsch

Konstantin Dobrynitsch († around 1022) was governor of Novgorod 1018-1019.

He was a son of Dobrynja , a relative of Vladimir the Great . He became the governor of Novgorod.

In 1018 he is said to have prevented Prince Yaroslav the Wise from fleeing to Scandinavia. This had been driven out of Kiev by Svyatopolk I. Constantine and the Novgorodians organized the resistance and hired Varangians from Scandinavia. Kiev was retaken.

In 1019 Constantine lost his position. The reasons are not known. His further fate is unclear.
