Konstantin Romanowitsch Megrelidze
Konstantin (Kita) Romanowitsch Megrelidze (* 1900 , † 1944 ) was a Soviet sociologist, psychologist and philosopher. Megrelidze graduated from high school in Poti and studied psychology and philosophy in Tbilisi. During a study visit he heard lectures from Edmund Husserl in Freiburg and Max Wertheimer in Berlin. After his return to the Soviet Union, he dealt with questions of the sociology and psychology of thought as well as the philosophy of language.
In 1939, Megrelidze was arrested on false charges and exiled to a Ural camp. He died there in 1944 as a result of the prison conditions. In 1958 he was posthumously rehabilitated.
