Konstanz European Colloquium
The Konstanzer Europakolloquium is a series of events related to current questions about the history , culture and society of Europe . It is organized at regular intervals by students from the University of Konstanz .
Concept and content
The Konstanz European Colloquium is a series of conferences on current issues of history , culture , economics , politics and the law of Europe, which is an initiative initiated by students. The aim is to bring together leading scientists as well as representatives from business and politics in order to enter into a dialogue with students from all over Germany and to discuss and identify possible solutions for current European problems. The individual colloquia organized each include a three-day conference and a public panel discussion.
Students and doctoral candidates in the humanities, social, economic, legal and political sciences who are interested in a discursive discussion of current social and cultural issues are addressed as participants. The conference results will then be published. So far, three anthologies have been created on current issues with reference to Europe (see below under literature ). The colloquium is supported by private and public sponsors.

1st Colloquium (2002)
The 1st Konstanz European Colloquium took place from May 9th to 12th, 2002 on the subject of "The Europe of the 21st Century: Opportunities, Challenges and Developments".
2nd Colloquium (2004)
The 2nd Konstanz European Colloquium took place from April 26th to 28th, 2004 on the topic of "Identities in Europe - From the past into the future".
3rd Colloquium (2005)
The 3rd Konstanz European Colloquium took place from April 21 to 23, 2005 on the topic of “Side by side - Together - For each other. Religious Pluralism and Tolerance in Europe ”.
4th Colloquium (2006)
The 4th Konstanz European Colloquium took place from 12.-14. October 2006 on the topic of “Dialogues across borders”.
5th Colloquium (2008)
The 5th Konstanz European Colloquium took place from June 6th to 8th, 2008 on the subject of "Energy Industry in Europe: In the field of tension between climate policy, competition and security of supply".
6th Colloquium (2009)
The 6th Konstanz European Colloquium took place from June 12 to 14, 2009 on the subject of "The European Financial System - Opportunities and Dangers of the Crisis".
7th Colloquium (2010)
From June 4th to 6th 2010 the seventh edition of the colloquium took place for the first time under the auspices of the President of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy . On the subject of "Lisbon in Discourse: Tension Lines of the EU in the 21st Century", lectures (selection)
8th Colloquium (2011)
The 8th Konstanz European Colloquium took place from May 13th to 15th, 2011 on the subject of "Green Economy in Europe: Illusion or Reality?" The patron was Günther Oettinger , EU Commissioner for Energy.
9th Colloquium (2012)
The 9th Konstanz European Colloquium took place from May 11th to 13th, 2012 on the topic of “European Finality”.
