Contractor Procedure

The tremie is in the construction industry , a method of incorporation of fresh concrete in a lower-lying, with liquid - often water or bentonite - filled area.

The concrete is fed into the lower-lying area to be concreted with the help of a pipe. The pipe outlet opening remains constantly below the concrete surface during the concreting process in order to prevent the fresh concrete from mixing with the liquid above. As the concreting progresses, the pipe is gradually pulled upwards and the liquid, if necessary, is pumped out and processed. The method comes e.g. B. used in the manufacture of bored piles and diaphragm walls , where bentonite is used as a supporting fluid during excavation, or when grouting geothermal probes .
