Cone-Kauda Syndrome

A cone-cauda equina syndrome (also the "C-notation" is common) is a paraplegic syndrome that is a combination of a cone syndrome and a cauda equina syndrome .

Guiding symptoms

The main symptoms are a loss of sensitivity distal to the L3 segment, which can be accompanied by severe radicular pain and flaccid paralysis of the legs (rarely also spasticity ).

root cause

The causes are typically space-occupying processes in the lumbar spine, for example medial herniated discs or tumorous masses.
