Coordinate line

Coordinate lines of a 3D coordinate system.

Coordinate lines are lines in a coordinate system on which all but one of the coordinates are constant.

In Cartesian coordinate systems and more generally in affine coordinate systems , all coordinate lines are parallel to the coordinate axes .

In the case of polar coordinates , the coordinate lines are straight lines running through the coordinate origin and circles, all of which have the coordinate origin as their center.
