Head blow
The head blow forms the conclusion when laying on the cleat and secures the line against unintentional loosening.
It's a half hit .
Knot
For a head blow, the loose part - that is the end of the rope to which nothing is attached - is led diagonally over the cleat and shaped into a bay . The bay is shaped so that the loose part leads away from the cleat. The bay is twisted into one eye and placed over the horn of the cleat so that the loose part between the top of the cleat and the other end of the eye is pinched.
The head blow is properly placed when all parties cross the cleat and thus ensure the greatest possible friction.
