Copy paper (tailoring)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under copy paper is meant in tailoring a specially coated paper similar to copy paper works. It is available in different colors and sizes and is mostly used to transfer patterns or parts of them from the pattern sheet onto the fabric . The copy paper is placed either between the pattern sheet and the fabric or under the fabric. The contours or markings to be copied are followed by means of a copying wheel . The pressure of the teeth of the copy wheel loosens the colored layer of the copy paper and sticks to the fabric. Moisture or ironing can remove this color from the fabric.
