The Korath volcanic area is a group of around 20 tuff cones in southern Ethiopia on the Turkana Rift. They each have lava flows that have flowed up to 5 kilometers. The most recent rivers arose from a centrally located crater and poured through a rupture in the rim of that crater. The exact age is unknown, but was limited to a minimum of 7900 years using the radiocarbon method. It is believed that the lava is between 30,000 and 7,900 years old.
