The Korea National University of Education ( acronym : KNUE; Korean : 한국 교원 대학교 , Hanguk Kyoweon Daehakgyo, colloquially Kyoweondae) is a state-owned South Korean university in Cheongju , the capital of Chungcheongbuk-do Province .
Since its founding on March 15, 1984, the KNUE has specialized in the training of teachers (kindergarten, primary and secondary schools) as well as the advanced training of teaching staff and also in researching teaching theories and creating modern textbooks for teaching. It has a graduate school and is one of the leading universities in South Korea in the field of education .
Black-billed stork project
The Research Center for Oriental White Stork Rehabilitation at KNUE is dedicated to the rearing and research of the black- billed stork .
