The Museum of Cosmonautics ( Ukrainian Музей космонавтики імені Сергія Павловича Корольова ) in Zhytomyr is a museum dedicated to the life of the Soviet scientist and designer of the Sputnik, and Sergei Korolev .

In 1970 the museum was opened in the former house where Korolev was born and lived. In one of the rooms, documents and awards can be seen that document the engineer's working life and professional successes. Among other things, photos of Korolev with Yuri Gagarin and during the development of the Sputnik are on display.

The museum received many items, documents and personal items as gifts from Korolev's family, friends and colleagues.

In 1987 the museum became organizationally independent and was given its current name "Sergej Koroljow-Kosmonautikmuseum". In the same year, a building for the “Kosmos” exhibition across from Korolev's birthplace was completed and integrated into the museum concept. This part of the museum was opened on June 1, 1991.

A separate area contains museum objects that show the development of space travel in Ukraine. In the middle of the exhibition room there is a basin filled with water as a symbol of life.
