history

The company goes back to a locksmith's shop founded in 1921 that manufactured cooling compressors and, from 1956, also woodworking machines . From 1956 they worked as a supplier. In 1963 the legal form of the KG was adopted. In 1968 milk packaging machines were assembled for the first time. In 1970 the company moved to its current location within Klagenfurt and the decision was made to act as a supplier for complete units. Since the Peter Zimmer company was taken over in 1971, there has been another location in St. Stefan in Lavanttal . In the same year the company renamed Kostwein & Petritsch . Monforts had been involved in the company since 1982 and they initially worked together on textile machines , and later also on machine tools . In 1992 the company was renamed to Kostwein GmbH . Since the takeover of Micro Precis in 1993 there has been a location in Unterbergen . In 1998 the ISO 9002 certification took place. In 2001 the company shares were transferred to private foundations and Kostwein Proizvodnja Strojeva doo was founded in Warasdin . In 2008 the company received the state award for best teaching company . In 2009 a subsidiary was founded in India in cooperation with Trützschler . The ISO 14001 certification took place in 2010 . In 2015 the company received the State Prize for Corporate Quality and presented the Austrian Apprentice of the Year and the Austrian State Master in CNC milling .
