The Koya University ( Kurdish زانکۆی کۆیە Zanîngeha Koyeyê , German 'University of Koya' ) is a state university in the Kurdish city ​​of Koya in the autonomous region of Kurdistan in Iraq . It was founded in 2003 and is located approx. 78 km east of Erbil . The international name is Koya University .

The university has four faculties - humanities and social sciences , education , natural and health sciences, and engineering .

The university is a member of the International Association of Universities (IAU).
