Krúbi (born November 17, 1994 in Pomáz ; real name: Krisztián Horváth ) is a Hungarian rapper who has been one of the best-known representatives of the hip-hop genre in Hungary since 2018.

biography

Horváth was born in 1994 in the central Hungarian city ​​of Pomáz and has some German ancestors. From 2005 to 2013 he attended the Péter-Veres-Gymnasium in Budapest , then he joined the Pregnant Whale Pain band, who make metal music. In 2017 he started rapping and in the same year he was able to celebrate his first success with his song PestiEst , because the song reached over two million clicks on the video platform YouTube . In 2018 his debut album Nehézlábérzés was released , which gave him his final breakthrough. The album reached number 20 on the Hungarian album charts and was recognized by MAHASZ as the best national hip-hop album of 2018. His second studio album Ösztönlény was released in 2020 and reached number 5.

style

Horváth's texts are mostly ironic and sarcastic, and he often criticizes leading Hungarian politicians such as the current Prime Minister Viktor Orbán , the former Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány , as well as Lőrinc Mészáros and Andor Schmuck. He even dedicated two songs to Orbán and Schmuck, entitled Orbán, Verd Ki a Ferinek and Schmuck , both of which can be heard on his first album.
