from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Łaziska power plant ( Polish : Elektrownia Łazisk ) is located in Ober Lazisk ( Łaziska Górne ) in the Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . The operator is Tauron Wytwarzanie (former: Południowy Koncern Energetyczny SA). It has a nominal output of 1,155 megawatts.

It is a conventional thermal power plant, one of 18 power plants operating in the Polish Energy System. It was founded in 1917 and was the largest power plant in Poland from 1927 to 1953. In terms of installed capacity, the Łaziska power plant is the 3rd in Silesia and the 9th in Poland and generates around 4.2% of domestic electricity generation.

In addition, it has an installed heating capacity of 196 MW.

The Polish Energy Museum is located in the facility.

Power plant units

The power plant consists of six blocks (2 × 125 MW, 3 × 225 MW and 1 × 230 MW nominal), which were built between 1972 and 1976 and 2012, and has a gross output of approx. 1,155 MW.
