Krauser-Domani team

The Krauser-Domani team is an exclusive motorcycle team from the motorcycle supplier Krauser , which was built from 1988 to 2004. The Swiss specialist LCR Engineering was responsible for the development and production of the wheel-hub steering and one-piece chassis with a sidecar , while BMW supplied the engines . Over 100 of these vehicles were produced. The majority of the teams were exported abroad.

The team is built on a tubular support. The front wheel is guided on double trailing arms, and the steering movement is transmitted to the stub axle steering via a steering column bracket. The combination rolls on the steering axle and on the sidecar wheel on tires of size 185/60 R 14, on the rear wheel 195 / 60R 15. The wheelbase of the fully faired combination is 1870 mm, the track width 1158 mm and the lead of the sidecar wheel 450 mm. The empty weight is given as 390 kg and the total weight as 580 kg. The maximum speed with the 96 kW engine (130 PS) of the BMW K 1200 RS is over 200 km / h.

Remarks

  1. Domani is Italian and means “tomorrow”, a reference to the futuristic styling. The price was also exclusive, from 55,000 DM (1991) to 70,000 DM (1996) later over 43,000 euros (2003).
  2. In particular to Japan ; in the manga series Oh! My Goddess is a protagonist (Chihiro Fujimi) driving a Krauser-Domani team.
  3. The first models were equipped with the 66 kW engine (90 hp) of the BMW K 100 , later the engine of the BMW K 1100 RS was converted.
